Treat the man in your life for Christmas

The title describes it all, it's exactly what Charlotte did and there's still time for you to do the same.

It's Liz posting this time and I am now shooting these very special Bodyscape sessions with women who want some fantastic images that express their femininity, sensuality and the sheer joy of being a woman.

If you would like a portfolio box of images or an amazing book of images to slip into your partners stocking on Christmas Eve then give me a call.

Cornwall

This blog is rapidly turning from a story of life at the cutting edge of photography into a weather report.

None the less I can only place on record my admiration for Morwenna, a Cornish model, who risked severe hypothermia last week to get some fabulous images.

We were shooting around the St Austell area and intended to get some beach/woodland images. Some hope. It rained, blew and hailed and absolutely trashed any hopes of getting the images we'd planned.

Undeterred we found a wonderful old warehouse building and used that as our studio. It wasn't the warmest venue I've ever used but at least the roof was largely intact and kept the rain off!

From there it was away to the local supermarket for a coffee to warm up and finish off with a shoot in an underpass! It really is glamorous this artistic life.

Despite all these drawbacks we got some fab shots. Thank you Morwenna and I look forward to working again with you, but next summer, when it's hot and hopefully dry.

Here is a little slideshow for the full gallery click here.

After a few days down in Cornwall it's back to work tomorrow and looking forward to spending the day with Brian, Emee Lou and Natalie. Brian and Emee Lou are a husband and wife photography team from Edinburgh who are starting out on their journey as professional image makers. They are coming down for one of our intensive training days to cover all aspects of their business and photography. That's where the beautiful Natalie comes in as she will be our model in the afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing you all and just for once, let it be a dry day for shooting, please!

Wet and Windy

But fortunately not on Saturday when the gorgeous Cathy married Tim in a beautiful village near York. The bridesmaid (Zani their dog) was gorgeous too and the whole event was a wonderful thing to be a part of. Congratulations to them both and see you soon guys.

Training for Christmas

After a fantastic day on Saturday we have scheduled two further Developing Vision courses for early in the New Year. These are always popular events for beginner to intermediate level photographers.

If you wish to book a place as a present for someone else then we will be happy to send you a gift certificate to wrap and place under the tree!

Each course is a full day event designed to open your mind to the possibilities of taking pictures under natural light. You will have the opportunity to work alongside me and a model to take a fabulous set of images. To secure your place on either course contact the studio.

Big Sunday Brunch!

Make a coffee, cook a breakfast and then pull up a chair to savour this Sunday photofest in comfort.

Not one, not two but three shoots on here this morning and all, in my humble opinion, fab!

Friday saw me in Harrogate for the wedding of Charlotte and Alistair. You may remember their prewedding shoot a couple of weeks ago, well that set us up for a beautiful wedding and they didn't disappoint.

The service was in the stunning setting of St Marks before moving on to the Devonshire Arms for a real celebration of their love with all their nearest and dearest.

As always the full gallery will go online soon but here's a little taster.

Back home late on Friday and away again early Saturday to run a course in Hull. The course was one of our 'Developing Vision' courses, aimed at beginner to intermediate photographers who want to open their creative minds and enhance their technique.

A really fun group of people to be around. Sorry a couple of you couldn't make it but look forward to seeing you next time.

The afternoon saw the guys and girls out shooting with Charlotte and they created some gorgeous images. Here are a few I took.

After the course Charlotte and I went out for a couple of hours to play around the city centre and get some images in the dark. It's getting more and more difficult to do these shoots as you are constantly harassed by guys in fluorescent jackets making sure you're not terrorists! Strange world we live in. Never mind it was worth it. Thanks Charlotte you were awesome. Full gallery here, but here is a small sample.

Thanks to everyone I've met this weekend who have made my work such a pleasure. I'm deeply grateful to you all. Thanks too to you all who have taken time to read and look through this entry. If there is anyone in your life that is interested in photography and would like to develop their skills then we'll be running another Developing Vision course in the New Year and will happily send out gift certificates before Christmas.

Ripley Castle

It's strange how many miles we cover and then don't work at a venue on our doorstep for ages. Such has been the case at the stunning Ripley Castle near Knaresborough.

A beautiful wedding venue set in the North Yorkshire countryside. We were there yesterday to share the wedding day of Chrissie and Geoffrey, a fab couple who had assembled their very nearest and dearest for a celebration of their love.

It was perfect in every detail, even the weather played it's part. Full gallery coming soon, watch this space.

It was a direct contrast to Saturday when we got blown away shooting the Lifestyle Shoot of Laura and Stuart up in Haworth. Pictures from their shoot will be online tomorrow.

Thanks to Julie, Sarah and all the team at Ripley for a thoroughly professional and anjoyable day yesterday. I look forward to visiting you all again soon.

In the meantime here's a small selection from the day.
