With only a little burning of midnight oil we've managed to get both weddings from the weekend online in record time in full and glorious technicolour.
Here's one picture from the day that sums up why I enjoy my work so much. To stand near a couple making their life commitments to each other, to share that space and emotion is an utter privilege. This image shows the sheer exhilaration of committing yourself to your soul mate in front of all your nearest and dearest. Thanks to Laura and Stuart for allowing me to share their moments in this way.
The wedding of Hannah and Matt was just as special and wonderful to share. We are truly blessed in that all our clients share a beauty of spirit and love of life that makes spending time with them an absolute pleasure. Their full gallery is online here, click this link to view. So there it is, the sun going down on a photographic year that has allowed us to share some fantastic moments with some gorgeous people. 2009 will bring many, many more I'm certain but or now it's time to kick back and enjoy what has passed. Have a wonderful Christmas one and all x
Well almost sunshine. At least we had some light and no rain yesterday for the wonderful wedding of Hannah and Matt.
The venue was another new one for us, the Great Wilbraham Hall Barn. It was getting dark by the time we got there and so the group shots were a challenge to say the least but using a little ingenuity and the fabulous candles and chandelier we managed it.
That's our last wedding for 2008 and fabulous to finish on such a high.
Although we're now on our Christmas closedown there will be some posts made between now and the New Year so keep checking back, not least for the full galleries of these last two weddings.
So from Liz, Lisa and I have a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing Christmas and we look forward to photographing you in 2009.
It's nearly midnight and just got back from a trip over the Pennines to Ormskirk for the wedding of Laura and Stuart.
We'd shot their prewed on a lousy day in Haworth, real Wuthering Heights weather.
It wasn't much better today but their wedding didn't suffer and it was an absolute honour to be part of their day.
Here's a brief excerpt. More to come before Christmas when the whole gallery goes online so more links to come.
Off to bed now as it's a trip to Cambridge in the morning for the wedding of Hannah and Matt. After that it's Christmas closedown but a few more posts before then.
Thanks to Laura, Stuart and all their family and friends for a wonderful day, plus to Lyndsey and her team at West Tower, a new venue in our history but definitely one we'll be revisiting soon.
Have you ever contemplated modelling, either as a professional career or as a part time way of earning money? Do you know someone who would just like to be treated like a model and have a photoshoot that produces a set of images like no others they've ever seen of themselves?
If so then follow this link and download our portfolios offer ebrochure. To celebrate our success in winning five top awards for our images we are offering a limited number of applicants a full model portfolio shoot, prints, website and disk at a 30% discount on our normal prices.
There is no better way to launch a career than a strong portfolio that will leap off the page when presented to agencies or commissioning photographers.
We also advise and guide all our clients as to how they can maximise their potential.
Not everybody can be the next front page of Vogue, but we can help you get as close as you can.
Not a major secret, but one that, if you are a photographer, could change the way you use your creative mind.
Look at the images below that won prizes, look at the pic of Kelly's shoes from last weekend. They all have one thing in common. Know what it is?It's the use of a Lowel ID Light, a fabulous tool in our armoury that offers a portable, variable light source where ever we're working.
It's a tungsten light, intended for use in video work but fantastic for photographic purposes. Now these little babies aren't widely available and very often photographers who come on our courses have a heck of a job sourcing them.
No more.We have teamed up with the official UK suppliers of these lights, ProKit to ensure that every photographer in the country knows where they can get a light and how to use it to good effect.
Mark and his team at ProKit offer fantastic service, pricing and after sales support. We are delighted to welcome them as commercial partners and look forward to working with them ever closer in the future.
In the meantime if you have a light and don't know how to get the best from it, have one on order or would just like to see for yourself what they can do then get booked in on one of our Developing Vision Courses. You'll learn so much about all types of lighting with a specific input on the uses of the Lowel.
More tomorrow about a promotion we've put together for models, aspiring models or just anyone you know who wants to be treated like the UK's next top model and have their portfolio shot in our award winning styley.
More of that tomorrow to be followed by a shoot I did recently with Matt from BC's our favourite DJ for weddings and events.
My true love sent to me, three gold medals! Well not my true love, Phil Jones to be honest who is the CEO of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photography. He is a little older and hairier than my true love Liz but today I am indebted for him awarding not one, not two but three gold awards to our images. This trio, a wedding, a portrait and a nude Bodyscape, along with the earlier success with Morwenna's image, will now go forward to the international photograph of the year awards, to be judged in London in January. We love it that our clients love our photography but it's also nice that our fellow professionals hold our work in high regard. It's not a competition we've entered before this year so we're delighted to be straight into the top echelon.
The wedding image was taken at the wedding of Catherine and Mark at the Royal York Hotel in York. It's an amazing venue and we're looking forward to working closer with Katie and the team there in 2009 as we have been adopted as their recommended photographers. We'll be doing a wedding fashion shoot there early in the New Year so look out for some stunning images from that.
The model in this shot is the wonderful Natalie who is also booked to work with us on the February Developing Vision Course. If you would like the opportunity of learning how to capture your own award winning images of this beautiful girl then give us a ring to secure one of the last places. So it'll be a trip down to the capital in best bib and tucker next month but until then we're working hard to try and get everyones orders clear, weddings photographed, bookings finalised ahead of the Christmas break. Loads to do so keep in touch one and all and we'll keep on producing fab photos!
We are a husband and wife team, living in East Yorkshire but working from our fantastic studio in the Yorkshire Dales.
We work around Europe on weddings and social photography. We also undertake a number of editorial commissions for fashion and lifestyle magazines.
